The East Devon Radio Control Club was formed in 1946 to bring together modellers interested in radio control. Aircraft, Helicopters and Boats. Our 1999 Membership totalled 160 fully paid up members including a few juniors. The Club is fortunate in having the use of a flying site on Woodbury Common, approximately 400 yards from Four Firs Cross on the road to Yettington in Glorious Devon. There are no restrictions on flying times - Sunday morning is Club morning. The Club has a training aircraft that is available for use by learners under tuition of our experienced instructors. Tuition normally takes place on a Sunday morning, Tuesday afternoon and Thursday morning. Safety is very much encouraged. A flat field gliding site is available near to the Common and there are a number of slope soaring enthusiasts who make frequent trips to the local hills. Club meetings are held at the Maltsters Inn, Woodbury, Nr. Exeter, at 8pm on the last Wednesday of each month from September to May. Club competitions are held during the summer months.
The club became affiliated to the BMFA in 1999.
So if you are visiting Devon pay, us a visit and have a fly. You will be most welcome.
